He was involved in school chorus always desiring to learn and develop his musical talents. Along with singing and doing musicals, LT started out learning the flute. In 6th grade, he switched to learning piano and continued his involvement in the school's chorus and musical theater including playing one of the lead roles as Jacob in “The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”. High School only continued to add to his increasing love for music and the arts by performing in the school's musical theater department in “Pippin” (Player/Dancer) and “Once Upon A Mattress” (Page/Dancer). He also was part of the school's regular Chorus, Gospel Chorus and The Hallelujah Chorus (Classical).Not only was LT involved in music during his schooling, he was also very active in his local community where he played "The Little Drummer Boy" in the local community theater during a Christmas Program. He was also very involved in his church, First Assembly of God in Waterbury, CT. At a young age, he was leading worship, directing the adult and youth choirs, and was a natural born leader. Additionally, at the age of 14, he directed his first Youth Musical Production, “Room 77” as director, choral/solo leader, and choreographer.

He has performed with both the North Carolina and Delaware Symphonies and has appeared at NYC legendary landmarks including Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, the Blue Note and the Apollo Theater. Mike's fist cd "Urbanized" debuted in 2006 was very well received in the smooth jazz market and featured on CD101.9 NY and later on syndication across the country. Many selections were heard on the 2-time Emmy Awarded Daytime Reality Show "Starting Over". 2011 featured Mike's 2nd cd "Bring It Back" which aired internationally and climbed up JazzWeek's Smooth Album Chart at #12 and Smooth Singles Chart at #9 with his version of "Can't Hide Love".​

interned in "Artist Boot Camp" under engineer/professor Brad Cox. His debut single 'Oochie Couchie' was released globally in March 2019, and has consistently charted on numerous blues and southern soul charts and has been lauded as the best ever first single heard from an artist on - iTunes. Hisyde has muddied the waters at shows like Soul Fest 2019, and hopes to play for larger arenas through out the nation; He’s also shared the stage with notable artists like Carl Sims, Bobby Rush, Latimore, Ricki White & Lenny Williams on the once in a lifetime "Living Legends Tour.
